Training on Culinary Diplomacy |
As a part of MFAIC Economic Diplomacy Strategy, a cookbook entitled «The Taste of Angkor», is officially published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and won as the «Best Asian Cookbook» and the «Best Heads of State/Food» from Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2021 and 2022 respectively. In addition, it continues its path by getting an award at the International Food Conference, shining a spotlight on the uniqueness of Khmer cuisine and food culture. In 2022, NIDIR established the Angkor Kitchen on the 3rd Floor of NIDIR’s building which offers the facility to conduct cooking classes for diplomats, especially women diplomats, and spouses to promote culinary diplomacy and Khmer national gastronomy to the world. In 2023, NIDIR produced nine cooking video clips during the culinary training course and surprisingly, the videos won the «Best Television Awards in the World» at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2023.
