Training for Pre-Posting Diplomats

Before going on mission abroad at Cambodian embassies, diplomats have to attend at least a training program conducted by NIDIR. This program is designed in accordance with the hierarchical appointments such as:


Ambassador, Minister Counselor, Consul General
Counselor, First Secretary and Consul
Second Secretary, Third Secretary and Attach’e

This program is conducted twice a year for a period of one month depending on the replacement basis of diplomatic officials at the embassies. The training is organized according to the following major modules:

Module 1 : Diplomatic Mission: provides knowledge organizing, functioning and managing Cambodian embassies or mission abroad, as well as the roles and responsibilities of diplomats.

Module 2 : Cambodian Interests: covers general aspects of Cambodia, including government policies, history, tourism and culture, current situation and development of Cambodian, trade, investment attraction, and anything that benefits Cambodia.

Module 3 : Geographical, regional, and world geography studies: the geopolitics of Cambodia, regional and world geopolitics and geostrategic situation.

Module 4 : Leadership and Management: provides knowledge on leadership and management skills, public relations, media, negotiation and advocacy skills.

Module 5 : Practical Skills for Daily Task: covers basic on practical skills in facilitating the Ambassador and Consul General tasks.
